What’s a brew ratio?

Brew ratio links strength (TDS) and extraction yield (how much you dissolved). In SCA home-brewer testing contexts, a ‘standard brew ratio’ is defined as 55 g coffee per 1,000 g water (55 g/kg).

As a customer, you don’t need the math—just this: more water relative to coffee tastes lighter; less water tastes more concentrated.
